Implants work by placing a replica titanium tooth root into the jaw at the exact place where the missing tooth is. This creates initial stability and within a few months the living bone grows around the titanium root, forming a permanent and secure bond - similar to that of a healthy tooth root.
A metal post is then fixed onto the bonded titanium and the replacement porcelain crown is attached creating a perfectly natural looking tooth.
