Dr Sats Bhopal - Oral Surgeon
Sats qualified from the Edinburgh Dental School in 1990 and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and a member of the Association of Dental Implantology.
She has worked in the fields of dental research, lectured in Oral Medicine and practiced both in dental hospitals and private practice. A highly qualified surgeon and an asset to our team.
Selina Alexander RDN - General Manager
Having worked in the dental industry for over 15 years, Selina is now well placed to ensure that your needs are fully met at Lubiju and indeed any of our associated group practices. From the moment you first pick up your phone to call us, to the final visit when you leave with your new smile, Selina will be there overseeing our operations and ensuring that everything runs smoothly and to plan.
Dr John Cuccio - Clinical Director
John Cuccio is our implantologist and restorative dental surgeon. He placed his first implant in 1974, which you will be pleased to know is still there today.
During those early days of dental implantology, John was able to develop his skills with some of the leading experts in the field at the time.
Now an expert in his own right, we are pleased to have John leading the clinical team here at the Scottish Dental Implant Centre. John’s expertise in implantology is further enhanced by his restorative skills. This means that once the implants have been placed you can have natural looking restorations that compliment your smile.
John has worked in the West End of London from his exclusive practice in Harley Street for the last 25 years. We are delighted to have such an experienced and internationally recognised team member to form the backbone of the Scottish Dental Implant Centre.
Deborah trained in advanced massage at the Clare Maxwell-Hudson school of Massage before enrolling with Patrick Holford at the Institute of Optimum Nutrition.
She then joined the team at London Bridge Hospital, where she was a key member of the stress clinic, using stress management techniques to compliment the work done there by her psychotherapy and cardiac surgery colleagues.
During this period she also ran her own stress management clinic in a very exclusive GP practice in South Kensington, which she did so for 5 years and allowed her to develop her clinical and corporate stress management techniques.
Having travelled extensively in India and South East Asia over the past 16 years, she has now brought together the wealth of experience she has accumulated over this time to offer to those looking for the ultimate detox and cleansing of the body, mind and soul.
Elaine Armstrong - Dental Hygienist
An important part of all good dentistry as well as implantology is the significance placed on the supporting structures of the teeth – namely the gums. In this regard we have one of Edinburgh’s most experienced hygienists to hand to help improve and maintain good oral hygiene.
Elaine Qualified in 1979 and has since worked in many fields of dentistry including Community, hospital as well as private practice. Elaine has also tutored at the Edinburgh Dental Institute imparting a wealth of knowledge to the new dental hygienist students. She will always be on hand to ensure the highest standards of oral hygiene before during and after any dental procedure.
Una Moran - Treatment Co-ordinator
After a hugely successful dental career in Canada, Una returned to Edinburgh with over 20 years experience gained within the North American dental environment, having progressed from dental nursing to practice management in one of the largest specialist dental practices in Toronto, specializing in general, cosmetic and implant dentistry under sedation, to owning and running her own dental teaching and recruitment agency.
With exposure and training in NLP and reflexology and exceptional people skills we were privileged to have Una join us in 2005 in the role of Implant co-ordinator and with her background and experience she has quickly excelled this role which positions her perfectly to manage our multi faceted team.
Dr Rahman is Consultant for Fife Acute Hospitals in anaesthesia and sedation, a post which he has had held for several years. He also holds posts in Intensive Care and Regional Anaesthesia as well as having Specialist interests in Dental, Obstetric, ENT, Paediatric anaesthesia and of course Dental Sedation.
